Artwork Explained: Zeus

Artwork Explained: Zeus

This week we are super excited to be releasing the incredible Zeus apparel range, inspired by the legendary Olympian god of the sky and thunder and also the king of all gods and men in Greek mythology. This incredible range was designed by the super talented Michael Canada.

In Ancient Greek beliefs and mythology Zeus was considered to be the king God in the Greek pantheon. Zeus was considered to be the sender of thunder, lightning, the rain and the winds. Zeus' main weapon was a thunder bolt and was often portrayed with his thunderbolt in one hand and a Scepter in the other. Zeus' thunderbolt can be seen portrayed throughout the artwork featured on this range.

Zeus would often be seen wearing a crown of oak leaves, this can be seen depicted on the sleeves of the hoodies in this range. He also had a huge shield called the Aegis which he loaned to his daughter the Goddess of war Athena from time to time.

Finally Zeus also owned a golden eagle as a pet named Aetos Dios which can be seen portrayed on the back of the hoodie in this collection. Zeus was considered the ruler of Olympus, the conjurer of weather and was a God related to awareness, authority, destiny, wisdom, war, battles, power and authority.

We hope you love this range just as much as we do!
