Artwork Explained: Warrior

Artwork Explained: Warrior

Introducing our new viking inspired Warrior apparel range. Created exclusively for Lunafide by the talented Doppaint.

Vikings also named Norsemen or Northmen were members of a group of Scandinavian seafaring warriors whom raided and colonized vast areas of Europe during the 9th and 11th century whose disruptive influence monumentally impacted European history forever.

Powerful ships have always been associated with Vikings, and this is because they did indeed know how to build excellent ships, which were a key component to their various military and invasion successes.

Their most commonly used boats were "longboats" which were not only able to fit as many as 60 Vikings at a time but were also designed to be able to land on and depart from land easily.

A viking's most prized possession was a sword. The craftsmanship involved in making them meant that swords were extremely expensive and therefore likely to be the most valuable item that a Viking owned.

We hope you love this design as much as we do!

I appreciate you brining back some of the old ways and Hods that I learned about on my fathers knee some sixty years ago if only you would bring out the good and natural not all was blood and gore we Scandinavians are very in touch with nature especially that was the way in the 8th through 12th centuries I’d truly love to see that in garments as I know many many more would enjoy as well not all was blood a gore and death
