Introducing the striking, captivating and hypnotic new Norse inspired apparel range The Stave.
The Stave apparel range is inspired by the Helm of Awe. The Helm of Awe was a circle of magical power that would spark fear in an enemy. It was also associated with snakes and their ability to paralyse their prey before striking and described as a power that exists in the pineal gland and emanates from there and the eyes. Let's explore the story behind this wearable work of art and the powerful Norse symbols that inspired it.
The Helm of Awe was considered the ultimate form of protection and the Norse would draw this symbol between their brows, on their foreheads. It was also said that the symbol would be most efficient and powerful when inscribed using blood or spit. Before entering battle the Vikings would also draw the symbol inside of helmets where it would rest between the brows.
The actual magic behind the Helm of Awe starts with the actual runes that compose it. The Helm of awe is mainly composed of the Z-rune that is also called the life ruin, but when placed upside down it is considered to represent death. The rune's outer arms are not the only collection of Z-runes but the bigger spokes around the circle also showcase this rune therefore it is said that the symbol does not only offer physical protection but spiritual and mental protection as well, because the first step to having your enemies fear you is to conquer your own fears first.
Break Boundaries with The Stave apparel range. Wear this ancient symbol of protection in the modern day, let it teach us to conquer our own fears and in return our enemies will fear us too. After all, the only thing to fear is fear itself.
