Artwork Explained: Elephant Mandala

This week we are dropping the mystical Elephant Mandala apparel range. This range features an incredible blue and gold colorway that transports you straight to the Ancient Orient. Filled with tiny details, depth and symmetry that makes it hard to believe this was drawn digitally by hand! Let's explore the story and meaning behind the Elephant Mandala apparel range.

The literal meaning of the word Mandala is circle and circles have many sacred meanings across many cultures. Mandalas were created as an artistic expression to symbolise the relationship between the universe and spirit. Today Mandalas are primarily used as a tool in meditation and are believed to be a helpful tool in silencing thoughts and bettering focus and therefore helping to combat stress and anxiety.

This particular sacred geometry style is an animal centred elephant mandala design. The elephant in mandala art is symbolic of strength and steadfastness. Elephants also represent the wild mind which often steps off of the path of spiritual enlightenment and how with time, dedication and practice one can eventually control those wild, racing thoughts though mindfulness and meditation. Therefore the elephant symbolises transformation. The elephant incorporated in mandalas is also symbolic of mental and physical strength, prosperity, good fortune and a strong spirit.

Shop our Elephant Mandala collection today and explore the incredible depth and detail! We hope you love this range just as much as we do!
