Artwork Explained: Bushido

Artwork Explained: Bushido

Introducing our latest collection! The Japanese inspired, Bushido apparel range!

The Bushido code of conduct, is closely related to Samurai culture and eventually would also play an important role in art, Japanese values, and other important traditions such as tea parties and the art of samurai sword making.

This unwritten code of chivalrous behaviour and courtesy later became the basis for the teaching of ethics in Japan, with many of these principles still being relevant today.

Bushido is based on eight main principles:
-Justice
-Courage
-Compassion
-Respect
-Integrity
-Honor
-Loyalty
-Self Control

Ultimately the Bushido code calls for an appreciation and respect for life, and teaches people to lead by example, express benevolence, and to show mercy. This important moral code originating from the Samurai, should be uplifted, celebrated and preserved.

We hope you love this range as much as we do!
